Bulgaria, is a country with a historical and cultural heritage, and attractive natural landscapes, and is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Europe. In 2006 the country hosted an estimated 6 million foreign tourists, in 2010, that number was increased to 7-8 million.

Beach-resorts attract tourists from Germany, Russia, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Ireland. The ski-resorts have become a favourite destination for British and Irish tourists.
