Thirty years ago, Mrs Radka Lynn established Balkan Tours in Belfast. Radka Lynn, a Bulgarian, came to Ireland when Bulgaria was part of the communist block. At this time people in Ireland were unaware of Bulgaria as a holiday destination. Despite many difficulties Radka, with the assistance of the Bulgarian Tourist Board presented and promoted Bulgaria as a value for money holiday destination.

She married a local businessman and went on to establish and develop Balkan Tours, which is now one of the longest running tour operators in Ireland. Irish people supported the company in it's growth and success, with the result that offices were opened in Belfast and Dublin providing first class holidays in Bulgaria for everyone in Ireland.

Mrs Lynn and Balkan Tours have provided enjoyable holidays in Bulgaria, and the Irish people enjoy the wonderful beaches, mountains and the services on offer in all the Bulgarian resorts. It is now widely known that Bulgaria is one of the most popular destinations for the Irish market and it is continuing to grow. Hotels are constantly upgrading and improving, providing a wonderful value for families who embark upon a new adventure to this beautiful country.
