Pamporovo is high among the Rhodope Mountains in southern Bulgaria, set among magnificent pine forests. It is tailor-made for skiing, with quality hotels and a really good selection of bars, restaurants and entertainment.
Bulgaria’s historic second city, Plovdiv, lies 80km to the north.
